Boutté is a licensed cosmetologist and 1999 graduate of Dudley's Beauty College in Washington, DC.  In 2001, she opened the doors of her first shop, Braid It Up! Natural Hair Salon, on Georgia Avenue in Washington.

Right away Boutté began to create and design unique styles for natural hair.   Despite the multitude of competitors in the bustling metropolis of Washington, DC, Boutté knew she could carve out her own niche and make a name for herself.  Her commitment to the care, maintenance and beauty of her customers' natural hair, along with her own creative flair helped her establish a strong reputation in the hair industry. Additionaly, Boutte' is a fashion stylist and retail pioneer.  Armed with the philosophy that women should look and feel beautiful, she has revolutionized style. Boutte's style is bold with color and prints. She targets the rapidly growing market with her signature patterns and designs filled with a unique niche. Boutte's path to success has been based on entrepreneurial instinct and on fashion industry experience.

The recognition rolled in, followed by rewarding opportunities.  Boutté won 1st Place for Best Natural Hair Style at the 2003 For Sista's Only Annual Convention in Washington, DC.  That same year Boutté had the opportunity to style and braid the hair of hip hop singer Mya while she was on tour in the city.  In 2004 Boutté was chosen as the Best Natural Hair Stylist of the Year at the Golden Scissors Awards competition.  Sophisticates Black Hair, the premier national black hair style magazine, has featured Boutté's styles 22 times since 2003 and Style of the Month for December 2006.  Her styles have been featured in Black Beauty Braids and she even made the cover in 2004.  These accolades validate her one-of-a-kind styles and expert techniques, so that Boutté has become more than a "hair dresser" but a sought-after professional stylist.

Boutté continued to get such great exposure that in 2004 she was motivated to expand to a full service salon. While still specializing in natural hair care, Boutte' increased her number of clients for chemically treated hair and began offering aesthetician services including facials, pedicures and manicures.  The growth of her clientele prompted a rapid hiring of skilled braiders, stylists and aestheticians to handle the demand.

After more than six years of being a stylist, manager, and employer of Braid It Up!  and after seeing the changing needs of her growing twin girls, Boutte' chose to downsize.  Her vision was to make each customer's visit more personal, while allowing her to devote needed time to her family.  She took the radical step of transforming her two car garage into an exclusive private salon and in 2007 opened the doors of Boutte' Rouge BoutiqueSalon.  A true entrepreneur, visionary and dedicated mother, Boutté has found a way to balance her responsibilities of home and career in a way that does not compromise her service to family or customers.

Boutte Rouge is the ultimate in private pampering.  The salon is operates by appointment only.  Advance telephone reservation are required.
